Seven years.

Followed gurus who promised A to Z. Watched the "straight line" turn into circles. I've got the character to see things through — and I was still searching.

Eventually I started coaching. And like everyone told me to, I started booking sales calls.

10 to 20 a week.

Here's what that actually looked like:

Half of them didn't show up. Just... gone. No message. No reschedule. An hour blocked off for nothing.

The ones who did show up? I'd spend 45 minutes explaining what I do, customizing the pitch to their situation, answering every objection — and at the end they'd say:

"Let me think about it."

Then they'd ghost.

So I'd do it again tomorrow. And the day after. Booking more calls, hoping the next one would be different.

I was spending more time selling than coaching. And the people I was selling to weren't even ready to buy. They just wanted a free consultation.

I kept telling myself: "This is how it works. Everyone does calls. Just get better at closing."

But the math didn't add up. 20 calls a week. Maybe 2 sales. That's a 10% close rate on people who mostly weren't qualified in the first place.

Something was wrong. And it wasn't my sales skills.

The Realization

Here's what I figured out — slowly, painfully, over years of doing this:

The problem wasn't the calls. The problem was the OFFER.

My offer was too broad. "I help coaches grow their business." What does that even mean? It could mean 50 different things. So people needed a call to figure out what they were actually buying.

The call wasn't optional. It was required — because the offer was too complex for a yes or no decision.

Every coach I looked at had the same problem. Their offers promised everything: mindset, strategy, marketing, sales, delivery. To sell that, you NEED a conversation. You need to dig into their specific situation and explain which parts apply to them.

That's not a sales problem. That's a design problem.

What Changed Everything

I rebuilt my offer around one principle:

If someone needs a call to understand what they're buying — the offer isn't clear enough.

I call it a No-Phone Offer.

Instead of "I help coaches grow their business," I got specific:

"I help coaches who can't articulate their offer build a $5K+ offer so clear it sells without a sales call — in one afternoon."

See the difference? You either want that or you don't. No call needed.

The 4 principles:

When I applied these four principles to my own offer, everything changed.

No more 20 calls a week. No more no-shows. No more "let me think about it."

People read the offer. They understood it. They bought — or they didn't. Either way, nobody needed me on a phone to explain it.
